Colombian academy of sciences prepares proposals for the sustainable development of the country.
At the suggestion of the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, the Colombian Government convened in 2019, a group of 45 Colombian and international experts with the mission to chart the future of the country in several strategic areas. Together, they produced a document: Colombia towards a knowledge society, reflections and proposals of the International “Mission of wise men and women” 2019.
On August 13, 2020, the Academy launched an exercise of critical analysis and socialization of this document, with the installation of nine working groups. Dr. Enrique Forero, the president of the Academy, presented the guidelines to be used in the analysis. The lines of action include, among others, making contributions on strategies that strengthen proposals and their feasibility (for example, pilot projects), and laying special emphasis to mission-oriented research, considering the challenges and emblematic projects.
