A Colombian university produces a weekly radio program to discuss the links between basic sciences and sustainable development.
UNESCO proclaimed 2022-2023 as the period for celebrating the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development. This activity is coordinated from Paris, the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences being the focal point for this celebration in Colombia and the rest of Latin America.
The University of Tolima’s Faculty of Sciences has committed itself to this activity by organising a radio programme broadcasting interviews with specialists on sustainable development every Thursday at 10:30 am. Twenty-eight radio programmes have been broadcast up to March 30th 2023; it is expected that these interviews will continue until October, thereby accounting for more than 50 programmes to be accompanied by issuing a commemorative book, including all the sessions, summaries, videos and participants’ resumes.
