A website to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the death of René-Just Haüy has been launched by a renowned French researcher, Francois Farges. Abdulsalam MAHMUD reports.
Francois Farges, a distinguished Professor at the French Museum of Natural History, has created a bi-lingual website to commemorate the 200th death anniversary of René-Just Haüy.
The website is in English and French.
Year 2022 marks the 200th anniversary of Haüy’s demise, which the International Mineralogical Association (IMA) will be celebrating.
IMA is one of the partners of the International Year of Basic Sciences of Sustainable Development, IYBSSD.
The website of Haüy, who is also a member of the Institut Universitaire de France and formerly, a Professor at Stanford University, has received the Société Française de Minéralogie-Cristallographie (SFMC) label for this year.
It shows many new infos, and updates, among others, concerning the life and work of Haüy, and its current consequences in everyday’s life (“Hauy in 2022” page).
