Law and rights in science.
We are still giving some insight about the key messages of the Recommendation on Science and Scientific Researchers.
Last week we saw that this recommendation asserts the importance of science for the SDGs.
This text also states the importance of ethic and of human rights in science.
The recommendation:
- Emphasizes that all scientific conduct is subject to universal human rights standards;
- Balances researchers’ freedoms, rights and responsibilities;
- Calls for scientific integrity and ethical codes of conduct for science and research and their applications.
