Last December, year 2022 was declared, by the United Nations (UN) as the ‘International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Developmen’ (IYBSSD).
IYBSSD2022 is a commendable and inspiring initiative won with great struggle by world-acclaimed physicist, Michel Spiro, who is the President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).
Spiro, again President of the IYBSSD2022 Steering Committee, talked extensively about the scientific year, and the importance of promoting basic sciences by world nations, in a recent interview where he spoke in French.
