Between 21st and 27th of April 2022, Canary Islands will be agog when a spectacular ‘Mini Science and Innovation Fairs’, organized by the country’s Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment, takes centre stage.
The educational community of all the islands has an appointment with science and innovation from April 21 to 27, 2022, the date of celebration of the new edition of Minifairs promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The regional reference informative event gains momentum again to reinforce the key role that science, innovation and technology have for life. The XVIII edition of the Minifairs will have activities in online or face-to-face format, always free, accessible to all the islands and especially aimed at schoolchildren (from 4th grade of Primary, Secondary and Students with Special Educational Needs) and the general public.
Program design
For the design of the Program, the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment, through Knowledge, has the creativity and experience of universities, research centers, island institutions, educational centers, companies, museums, botanical gardens, and in general, agents linked to the generation and dissemination of knowledge in the Canary Islands.
These entities are preparing a multitude of initiatives in attractive, playful and innovative formats, to share the adventure of knowledge in society, which motivate people to want to know more, to get involved and to participate in the necessary changes for a better future.
Minifairs commemorate IYBSSD2022
In terms of themes, the 2022 edition of Minifairs commemorates the ‘International Year of Glass’, the ‘International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture’, and the ‘International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development’, with activities in accordance to the Canary Islands 2030 Agenda together with climate change, the circular economy, the information society, creativity and innovation.
