KAST strives to raise the country’s science and technology to world-class levels by carrying out roles as a nongovernmental diplomacy. KAST works well with international science academies and distinguished foreign associates. One good example is that the Association of Academies and Societies of Science in Asia (AASSA)’s secretariat is collocated with KAST and it is being managed by KAST. It introduces important issues, top research topics and trends from around the globe to the nation by applying its ability to foresee current and future issues.
