A new public portal to access satellite imagery for research and service delivery.
For several months now, the DINAMIS portal (French acronym for National Institutional System for Mutualized Supply of Satellite Imagery) has been facilitating access to very high spatial resolution images for many users. The simpler use of data from satellite systems makes it possible to develop uses for research, territorial development or planning, environmental monitoring or management, innovation or added value creation (in earth sciences, environmental sciences, agronomy, social sciences, etc.).
This system was created under the impetus of six French founding organizations: CNES, CNRS, IGN, INRAE, IRD and CIRAD. It remains open to the arrival of new partners.
Public and private stakeholders
DINAMIS is primarily aimed at French public, scientific and non-scientific stakeholders, foreign scientific partners, but also private stakeholders invested in research and development or in innovative services. DINAMIS is a continuation of the systems that preceded it (ISIS, GEOSUD, Délégation de Service Public Pléiades, etc.) by harmonizing and pooling their resources (archives, reception facilities, IT infrastructure, organization, budgets) to provide users with sustainable satellite data.
Commercial and non-commercial images
To date, DINAMIS offers its users access to two families of Earth observation space data acquired around the world:
- supply of commercial optical images Pleiades and Spot 6-7 (without cost within the limit of quotas, and beyond at negotiated preferential rates);
- relay of a bouquet of non-commercial images with free access and complementary features: Sentinel-2, Spot 1-5 archives of the Spot World Heritage program.
Transversal service
DINAMIS is a transversal service of the Data Terra Research Infrastructure and its data poles Theia (continental surfaces), ODATIS (ocean), ForM@Ter (solid earth), AERIS (atmosphere). It organizes the pooling of resources in order to ensure data supply, dissemination and user support with the support of experts from the clusters. DINAMIS thus contributes to the development of new products and services resulting from Earth observation, in the service of agricultural, environmental and territorial public policies.
