Research Director, Skin Microbiome and Exposome, L’Oréal
Luc Aguilar is a biologist by training who gathers more than 20 years of experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical and the cosmetic industry. He joined L’Oreal’s group eight years ago to build the biotechnology Department in Advance Research. He is now leading the Biological and Clinical Research groups with a specific researcher focus on the Skin Microbiome and the Skin Exposome.
From 2005 to 2011, he was at Pierre Fabre’s Group, a mid-size pharmaceutical company, to advise the President on scientific and biotechnology affairs. During this period, he set up and led an innovation structure dedicated to clinical proof of concept studies.
Prior to that, he managed operations in biotech and start-up companies in genomics for corporate clients from 1995 to 2001 after a PhD experience in Molecular Biology gained in Paris at the Pierre et Marie Curie University. He earned also a MS in Biotechnology from I.N.S.A. Toulouse, France.
