The objectives of the International Union for Pure and Applied Biophysics are the advancement of education in the Science of Biophysics. In furtherance of this aim it may exercise the following powers:

1. to organise international co-operation in Biophysics and to promote communication between the various branches of Biophysics and allied subjects;
2. to encourage within each adhering body co-operation between the societies that represent the interests of Biophysics;
3. to contribute to the advancement of Biophysics in all its aspects.
