Tshwane Book Picnic and Basic Sciences Exhibition
At the Basic Sciences Exhibition, learners will experience standards based, hands-on science with knowledgeable educators and engaging experiments that cannot be accessed during the school day due to lack of resources or time. These experiences are essential to helping students succeed on standardised tests and keeping students engaged in the sciences. This in turn is essential to creating a skilled science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce for our region in the future.
The Basic Sciences Exhibition at Tswaing is a great way to bring science to life for learners. Learners will attend a variety of activities and outdoor entertainment that will be hosted by science bodies, academic institutions and practitioners with a focus on environmental and agricultural development. All learners will go on the Tswaing Meteorite Crater tour.
Learners will be taught how to start home gardens and also get involved in school and community gardening and environmental projects. This will alleviate hunger and guarantee food security. The event will conscientize learners and turn them into environment and climate change ambassadors.
