This panel organized by the Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Science Council, will present an overview of current efforts in the region to respond to urgent environmental and health needs brought about by the Covid 19 pandemic and climate change.

The growing response by the scientific community has required new ways of looking at scientific publishing scenarios and the way in which research should be evaluated to ensure high quality standards coupled with the ethical aspects of scientific work and the impact of open science in the region.
