Young Science Communicators Competition
Description
The Young Science Communicators Competition has been running since 2009, aiming to encourage young scientists to develop their skills and explore science communication through various platforms. It now runs biennially and includes writing, audio clips, video clips, and other creative forms of communication such as graphics and poetry. SACNASP and SAASTA would like to invite young registered natural scientists between the ages of 21 and 35 to submit entries for the competition in 2022 under the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development theme.This is a fantastic opportunity for students and early career natural scientists to show off their science communication skills and connect science and society. Young natural scientists are encouraged to put together their stories under the theme, in the form of videos, articles, audio clips, and other creative modes of communication such as poetry, infographics, and cartoons, to enter the competition.
Expected Outcomes
- Create awareness about basic sciences and their relevance in society;
- Acknowledge basic sciences as a principal requirement for innovation to develop a productive scientific environment through which the sustainable development goals can be achieved.
