The Urban Science Festival and Rural Schools Small-scale Science celebration events
The Urban Science Festival and Rural Schools Small-scale Science celebration events aim to transform the dull and stereotypical perception of scientific knowledge into engaging and fun science experiences. Through creative educational activities, students will be encouraged to unleash their creative thinking potential and foster their exploration and problem-solving skills. The event goal is to popularize creative science education, promote innovative science teaching, inspire the exceptional potential in students. By inviting parents to join in, it also increases opportunities for parent-child interaction and creating a positive environment for children’s development. This initiative seeks to cultivate an enjoyable approach to scientific exploration, elevating the inspiration for science, broadening children’s scientific perspectives, planting the seeds of scientific knowledge in their hearts, while leading children to happiness, and achieve the goals of “scientific enlightenment” and “scientific equity”.
The “Urban Science Festival” aimed for 10 events across 19 counties and cities in Taiwan, while the ” Rural Schools Small-scale Science celebration ” targeted 30 schools in remote areas. Ultimately, the “Urban Science Festival” concluded with 21 events across 17 counties and cities (including 6 municipalities, 9 counties, and 2 cities), with 795 activity booths and a total participation of 114,662 individuals. The ” Rural Schools Small-scale Science celebration ” spanned from the north to the south (including the eastern and outlying islands), involving 85 schools. Excluding duplicate occurrences at specific schools (Excluding the duplicate occurrences at specific schools: Zhong Ning Elementary, Da Ling Elementary, De Hua Elementary, Qing Shan Elementary, Dong Hai Elementary, Gu Hua Elementary, Gu Ning Elementary, Zhuo Huan Elementary, Xian An Elementary, Bin Lang Elementary, and Long Tian Elementary, each occurred once. Fang Hai Elementary occurred three times, and Zhong Zheng Elementary occurred twice), a total of 5,426 individuals participated.
