MEOWS 3.0: Basic Science for the Future
The different activities aim to foster interest and awareness about the role of basic science in society, which have been highlighted more now that we are in the midst of a pandemic. The activities which form part of the Modified Enhanced Online Week of Science will provide an avenue for our faculty, students, alumni, and the general public to highlight the importance of basic sciences in sustainable development. This is very crucial as our college is one of a few academic units in the entire country which produces the most number of undergraduate degree holders in the sciences.
The event will act as a platform wherein scientists from different fields and generations can exchange their ideas, and points of view to help students in their young careers. It will also serve as a venue wherein scientists can be heard by the general public, for them to be equipped with knowledge from scientific facts which refute misleading information easily found on the internet. The speakers who are practitioners can also provide real-life situations, experiences, and expertise.
