If I were a scientist – Contest
We launch a nationwide contest for children in the age group of 9-16 years (Classes III to IX). They will be asked to imagine what they would do to change the world, make it more sustainable, if they were scientists. There are two categories:
- drawing/painting;
- essay/story writing.
The idea is to expose children to the basic sciences and the SDGs, and helping them to engage in a creative thought process inspired by these ideas. A national committee of experts will judge the submissions.
The event is focused towards exposing children to the idea of science for sustainable development. This is something they do not learn actively in their curriculum, and the two-years long virtual education has disrupted active learning in many cases. The event aims to encourage learning through engagement.
