Quantitative Human Ecology: Untangling the Determinants of Sustainability
The human population and the environment are strictly interdependent. Understanding such interdependence–which is the key determinant of sustainable developments–requires the integration of several methods and scientific disciplines. This session will discuss how basic science can shed light on the determinants of sustainability in systems of human and non-human interacting agents.
The colloquium is one of a series of events coordinated by ICTP in honour of the UN’s International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development.
