International Day of Mathematics

We will first reflect on how mathematics emerges from the ability of the mind to ‘zoom in’ on the logical structure of the universe, as well as the role that aesthetics plays in this process. The insights brought by such reflection will then be applied in a discussion about challenges in teaching and learning mathematics and the possible benefits that overcoming these challenges could bring to sustainable development.
