QUIMICAMP (Camp for the promotion of scientific vocations)
This camp is a three-day event, aimed at students from 12 to 18 years old. Where different topics of biology, physics, chemistry, technology and engineering are discussed. Workshops, talks, teamwork and field activities are held.
It is a tool for students to continue studying and to promote scientific vocations and applied sciences. This promotion collaborates with the improvement in the quality of education and reduces the gender gap. The issue of the importance of conservation and responsible use of water as an exhaustible resource is also discussed, an ecological tour is carried out where the ecosystem with its flora and/or fauna is studied.
The students participating in the Olympics are girls and boys who belong to all parts of the country, there is a great diversity of regions. And even so, direct quotas are opened for students from remote and low-participation areas to give them the opportunity to share with students of the same age and thus encourage them to continue participating in these events.
This year camp is focusing on sustainable development. On this topic in the presentation and welcome activity (icebreaker), in the movie forum, in the importance of manclars for water purification. And how Costa Rica is an example of ecotourism and sustainable development.
